Common Inquries about Miva MBA

Miva Open University is a degree-awarding university, recognised and licensed by the National Universities Commission. Rest assured, our programmes adhere to rigorous standards of academic excellence and quality.

The entry requirements include: 

  • A bachelor’s degree with a minimum of second class (Lower Division) in Business Administration, Management, Accounting, Banking and Finance, Economics, Entrepreneurship, Public Administration, Marketing, Human Resource Management, or other allied disciplines from any approved university.
  • A bachelor’s degree with a minimum of second class (Lower Division) in any other discipline not listed above, such as B.Sc. in Sciences, Engineering, and Medicine. Such candidates will be admitted on the condition that they take required courses in which they are deficient.
  • Holders of HND and/or professional qualifications in administration discipline are also eligible for admission.

Yes, candidates are expected to have a minimum of one year of relevant full-time work experience after graduation. Applicants with lower academic results may need to demonstrate a longer duration of work experience. When assessing applications, Miva Open University looks closely at career progression in terms of roles and responsibilities, experience managing projects and people, and how skills have continued to develop throughout the applicant’s career.

Yes, Miva Open University offers several specializations within the MBA program, these are Marketing and Strategy, Entrepreneurship and Innovation, Finance, and Management. Students can choose a specialization based on their interests and career goals.

Yes, candidates with bachelor’s degrees in non-business-related fields will be admitted on the condition that they take required courses in which they are deficient. These courses will be determined based on the applicant’s academic background and are designed to provide a foundation in business-related subjects.

The MBA tuition fee is ₦285,000$305 per semester.

The MBA programme at Miva Open University is designed to be completed in 4 semesters within 16 months of full-time study.

Examinations are conducted online and students can write their examinations from their respective location.

International applicants are required to meet the same academic and work experience requirements as domestic applicants. Additionally, they may need to provide proof of English proficiency if English is not their first language.

Miva Open University offers online lectures. Optional meets and greets and other engagement events may be organized for students to interact with faculty members and coursemates. In-person attendance is not compulsory.

Yes, you can take study breaks. You would, however, need to contact the academic support team to enable you to properly structure your breaks.
